The kitchen is an important room in your home so it has to be appealing and convenient as per your needs. But before you begin with Kitchen Planning, the first and the most important thingto do is to figure out your budget. Only after you figure out roughly as to how much you want to spend on your Kitchen Remodelingthen you can start planning about converting your ugly kitchen into a brand new one. If you won’t do this then you will end up spending more at the end.
Here are some Kitchen Design Ideaswhich will help you in Kitchen Remodeling.
- Your Kitchen is a place where you cook, eat and entertain guests. So it should have proper lighting.
- It should have a lot of open spaces so that there isn’t any difficulty in working.
- In case you are planning to change the cabinets then make the cabinets which resemble the furniture that is already present in the kitchen.
- Furniture which have glazed or antique finish is becoming more popular.
- Consider using stainless steel or cast iron under mounted sinks. These sinks will give a smooth and clean look to your kitchen and are very easy to install too.
- Modular type of Kitchen saves a lot of space.
- Incase you are planning to change the Kitchen flooring, then try natural stone flooring as it will give a luxurious feel to your kitchen. But some natural stones are very smooth like limestone and can be dangerous when they are wet. So, enquire about slip resistant flooring before you plan to go for some natural stone.
- Consider using some environmental friendly materials for countertops such as concrete aggregate mixes as they will make your kitchen look beautiful and are long lasting too.
- Glass countertops will make it look modern but can break if heavy object falls on their surface. So, this can be risky.
- Stainless steel countertops are stain, dent and heat resistant. So are becoming more and more popular among home. They are even available in two beautiful finishes to choose from.
- Put an island in the center of your kitchen so that it is convenient to you.

Well, it looks like Twitter found some more operating capitol from some high rollers including T. Rowe Price and Morgan Stanley to name a few. Could some of your bailout tax dollars at work here?
You can now sync your MySpace account with Twitter. This will let you update your status from your home page. When you update on MySpace, it will also show on Twitter, and visa-versa. Hats off to Ryan Sarver and the Twitter team for pulling this off. Although, MySpace seems to have lost allot of steam with Internet marketing in general unless your into the music scene which is pretty cool too.
Twitter has also changed their TERMS OF SERVICE also. So be sure to check that out so you don’t get slapped.
In this installment we’ll discuss some of the many Twitter tools available. As there are many apps. available for retweeting at different times, bulk follow and unfollow, phone apps. etc.. We’ll hit on more in the future, But for this installment we’ll look at some of the bulk management tools available.
These are a great time save3r if you are doing any kind of Internet marketing on Twitter to any extent. But take heed, I’ve been Twitter slapped a few times trying different things. To much of a good thing is bad at times. One needs to watch ones self here also.
Before you do any kind of bulk manageme3nt at all, log into your Twitter account and make at least 4 to 6 tweets, Keep these social and don’t do a sales pitch. This should keep Twitter’s radar screens down. Then log in to your favorite bulk manager.
There are many bulk managers out there, and a popular one is TwitterKarhma.com. This one is pretty good, and free to use. But me, being of simple mind, was a little bit confused at first. It puts a lot of people in front of you to check off and I was always afraid I’d be dumping someone that I didn’t want to. So if your new to this, read and understand carefully. Don’t be intimidated by it. But none the less, when figured out, it is a great tool for bulk management. Until…You hit 10,000 followers. Then it doesn’t work so well. You’ll have to find something new.
Another easy one is at tweetspinner.com. This will cost you $15.00 USD per month, but it does, most everything. It manages, it autotweets, it filters, it gives you real time logistics and statistics for the entire tweetspinner account. This is a good inexpensive tool for any type of social media marketing and is a favorite of Internet marketers because of the cost. It can all be set up on a schedule to do everything. It’s like tweetlater, TweetAdder, and TwitterKarhma all rolled into one package. And best of all, it’s affordable.
Another one out there is Tweepi. This one is also free to use and one of my favorites. This is a cool tool. It’s one of the only one’s that gives you statistics about who your about to follow or unfollow. Here you can clean up your nest from unwanted spammers and deadbeat users. Then you can follow quality tweeple using the statistics and filters provided. You can find and add like tweeple with similar interests or topics by using the “geeky follow”. You can do a “geeky flush” to rid yourself of all the infidels. You can do a “geeky reciprocate” to follow tweeple that are following you but you don’t follow them. And lastly, there is the “geeky cleanup” to dump off the deadbeat users. These are the ones that don’t engage, never RT, or don’t provide any useful content at all. This will truly purify your list of tweeple and make for a happy nesting experience. Too cool, huh? Oh, and did I mention, it’s no charge either.
Although there are many other bulk managers that do a great job, I just listed a few here that I’ve been exposed too while Internet marketing and leveraging social media for that purpose.
Remember…Before any “bulk” action is taken, make sure to log in to your account and make a few tweets, this should be done whenever you do anything on Twitter, regardless of what it is, and that should keep you safe.
Also, this is social media. So keep it real. Keep it social. Don’t pollute it with spam. Learn the proper techniques to ask for the conversion. Don’t be in a big race to get a trillion followers. This means nothing without good content and or links to good content, which the later is more important because then and only then do you discover who’s in your nest. Who’s in your nest?
With fuel prices surging, this winter’s heating bills are certain to rise accordingly. For many consumers higher prices to heat homes will take their toll on budgets. You can’t do anything about heating oil prices but you can reduce your heating bill by following several simple steps as outlined below.
Turn down the thermostat – If you are used to heating your home at 70 degrees, then 68 should do. Drop it down to 65, put on a sweater, and reap the savings. Even a drafty house can be comfortable enough if you dress appropriately.
Seal the windows, seal the doors – Plenty of air leaks out of windows and underneath and around doors. You may not be able to insulate everything, but you can apply sealant to the window or around the door. Even a stretched out towel laying on the floor up against the door will do.
Replace your filters – your furnace may be laboring not because it is old but because its filter is dirty. Replace that air filter and your furnace will work more efficiently. An efficiently operating furnace will cost you less money.
Check the ceiling fans – You cool your home with your ceiling fans, but did you know you can warm it up with the same device? Yes, a ceiling fan with the blades working in reverse will help pull up and spread out heat all around the room. A very efficient and cost effective way to warm up a room.
Shut the chimney – If you don’t use your fireplace, then close up the damper as that is prime way for heat to escape; keep your home warm by only opening the damper up when the fireplace is operating.
Move furniture – Furniture placed in front of radiators or over heat registers can stop heat from properly circulating. There is no need to bake your divan or roast your Lazy Boy; keep all heating areas free for optimum heat flow.
Consider insulation – If your attic area has a dearth of insulation in it, add more and also consider having insulation blown in between the floors and between the walls. The roof job you have been putting off may come in handy now: perhaps the source of heating escape is through the top of your house.
You can also make good use of your kitchen’s stove by opening the door up when the food is done. That extra bit of heat can warm your home just enough to make a difference.
Lighting plan is of vital Importance to your home decoration project. Indoor lighting complements different moods, feelings and every-day shades, practically telling the art of living. With shades of light, you can change the ambience from special to occasional and even extravagant, and create magic with special effects
Lighting – Making Your Home Look Brilliant
The decisions you make about home lighting can dramatically influence the feel of a room, making it warm and inviting, cozy and comfortable, or cold and distant at the flip of a switch. If chosen correctly, it can have just as much influence on the look and feel of a room as your best piece of furniture.
See some of the functions the lighting performs:
Focus Pocus: Put lighting to work creating focal points. Add lights to direct the eye in a new direction by focusing on a piece of art, furniture or the mantel.
Dim Some: Dimmers are an inexpensive trick-of-the-trade. They help set a special mood in the home by allowing you to manipulate the light. Install them at the wall for ceiling fixtures and even buy them for table lamps.
Space Case: Add more drama to a space with accent lighting. By illuminating the top of a bookcase, adding under-cabinet lighting or hanging a colored pendant over the kitchen island, you can create islands of light that bring the grain of the wood, the print of the wallpaper or the color of a wall to life.
Showing Personalized Taste: Every home is special. So is every individual, with his peculiar taste for shapes, patterns and inherent aesthetic sense. With all the decorative options out there today, you can use them to introduce your neighbors and guests to your taste when they are introduced into your home.
Entwining the Lighting with a Room’s Interior Design
How a room is lit can dramatically alter its look and feel. Entwining the lighting with a room’s interior design is pivotal in achieving the desired look whether it is minimalist, shabby chic or glamorous. Here we showcase some lighting ideas as follows:
Artwork features
Make a feature of your artwork with these rod lights. They come down from the ceiling and distribute an even light to the artwork – much like in a gallery. Choose a subtle color so the light blends in with the rest of the room.
Porcelain pendants
Pendants made from a natural finish such as porcelain work well with the earthy natural colors that are popular in interiors, as opposed to chrome or white fittings, which tend to clash with natural furnishings. Aluminum also matches well with natural interiors and isn’t as pricey.
Entertaining areas
The emerging trend of indoor/outdoor living has led to the integration of indoor/outdoor lighting. A flick of a switch will light up the water feature and deck as well as the indoor eating area, forcing the fusion of indoors and outdoors. Create this effect by automating.
Feature pendants
Feature pendants are great because they are a good light source as well as being aesthetically pleasing. Aligning three in a row creates a focal point for the room and distributes decent light to all corners. Try using feature pendants in the living room where good light is needed for entertaining, reading and television viewing.
Chandeliers
Chandeliers are the perfect way to add a bit of glamour to your home. One thing to remember is that they are a feature art-piece rather than the sole light source. If there is a feature chandelier in the room, the main light will come from down lights and up lights distributed subtly throughout the room.
Innovative Home Lighting Ideas – Mood Light
Mood Light is the innovative lighting device, which allows you to control your own light scenarios. With the remote control you can change colors, functions and light sequences. It can create personalized lighting scenarios, changing atmosphere blue, red, yellow, intense, soft, warm, cool…
They spotlight your most precious possessions, they allow you to see your flat screen television better and they let you set the mood for the music that you like to listen to. This lamp can be wall or ceiling mounted, or set on a table.
Market Potential for Home Lighting Fixtures
Lighting fixtures complement a home’s architectural design; there is an ever-rising demand for them in the market now. For example, there’s been a growth in the availability of taller fixtures because homes being built today have higher ceilings. Eight feet used to be the standard. Today it’s more like nine or ten feet and you need to find ways to fill the space.”
The materials of choice for those fixtures also have changed. People are moving away from the plastic and resin look that used to be so popular in newer homes, and preferring the old world look — brass and copper, crystal chandeliers, and things like that.
The drive for the change is due to consumer interest, utility initiatives, and regulations encouraging energy-efficient devices.
Don’t Wait: To buy lighting fixtures, it is important to plan earlier than other decorating ideas because there are frequently decisions that need to be made relative to the location and type of electrical outlet installation during construction. These decorative fixtures often are built according to individual order, so it needs time. For the purchase on line, You can choose from the china manufacturer directory.
Lighting With Energy Efficiency In Mind
The lighting industry as a whole is putting a lot of emphasis on that right now. A lot of companies have brand-new decorative chandeliers, pendants and table lamps out this year that take fluorescent bulbs rather than incandescent one. Fluorescents last longer and are dimmable so they use less energy than your everyday incandescent.
Simple changes in the lighting can improve lighting quality and optimize energy efficiency.
Reduce light levels where there are no visual tasks.
Reduce glare and brightness contrast.
Use daylight where possible and practical.
A little planning and willingness to think differently about your lighting can provide significant savings.
Lighting Quality
Quality Counts: No matter what your budget, opt for timeless materials like bronze and glass over their plastic counterparts. Timeless designs in top materials will always look right and can become family heirlooms.
Test It: Try before you buy. In most instances, you can take a lamp home, try it and bring it back if it doesn’t work.
Take Your Time: Give lighting as much consideration as other decorating decisions like flooring, wall covering, and furniture. Create a master plan of how you want the finished house to look, and work at it over a year or two. Use your camera. Bring a digital image of the room and see what is not working. Make the lighting fixtures the statement to complement the room.
Design Trend for the Decorative Lighting
Casual elegance: The creation of warm, relaxed and comfortable environments with casual lighting that is a little more upscale in design.
Simplified traditional: Remove the excess and simplify. Decorative lighting here may be solid brass, but stripped down and rich with antique patina.
Soft contemporary: Clean, modern and simple in style. While architectural in design, these fixtures are no longer cold.
History and introduction of LED lightings
LED’s have been around since the 60s, but have mostly been relegated to showing the time in an alarm clock or the battery level of a video camera. Its use as a source of illumination was a challenging one for scientists. Light Emitting Diodes or LED Lightings- differ from traditional light sources in the way they produce light. In incandescent bulbs, a tungsten filament is heated by electric current until it glows or emits light. In a fluorescent lamp, an electric arc excites mercury atoms, which emit ultraviolet (UV) radiation. After striking the phosphor coating on the inside of glass tubes, the UV radiation is converted and emitted as visible light. On other hand LED’s are diodes made from semi-conductor materials. This is why they are referred to as “solid state” devices and relies on indium gallium nitride to convert electricity into photons with help of direct current (DC) instead of alternating current (AC) There are other types of Lights which on the principle of solid state objects like semi conductor but LED’s are the most relevant for general illumination. It consists of a chip of semi-conducting material treated to create an electric circuit. An LED is usually a small area source, often with extra optics added to the chip that shapes its radiation pattern. The specific wavelength or color emitted by the LED depends on the materials used to make the diode. It depends on the composition and condition of the semi conducting material used, and can be infrared, visible, or near-ultraviolet. Red LED’s are based on aluminum gallium arsenide (AlGaAs). Blue LED’s are made from indium gallium nitride (InGaN) and green from aluminum gallium phosphide (AlGaP). “White” light is created by combining the light from red, green, and blue (RGB) LED’s or by coating a blue LED with yellow phosphor. LED based lights are still under development but it is predicted it will radically change the energy consumption patterns of the world over the next few years. As such there’s a phenomenal amount of resources being devoted to improving LED technology worldwide. The U.S. has committed an uncharacteristically large amount of industrial policy support for LED research and development. Asia is a hotbed of cutting-edge manufacturing technology and Europe and Canada have led the way in energy efficient initiatives accompanied by some of some of the most innovative design styles you can find anywhere.
Advantages and disadvantages of LED lightings
They have extremely low power consumption. LED lights use up to 90% less power than normal lights, which has many more advantages than you would ever assume. Firstly electrical running costs are reduced, not only reducing the demand placed on your household energy consumption but feel good knowing you are saving energy and becoming green, the global warming factor. Along the same line, the other major advantage of LED lights is that you can connect multiple sets of LED lights together from only one plug or socket, more sets than non LED lights due to the lower power consumption. This is not only practical resulting in the requirement for less power sockets, but you can lit larger multiple area with little drilling of your walls. Just imagine powering a string of lights ½ mile long from a single electrical socket. With LED’s you can use more light than ever before and still save money. While the small energy draw of LED’s would indicate many more could be strung together, until the UL listing is changed for the standard plug connected light sets, it is prudent to adhere to the current regulations for risk management. Since LED lights don’t contain any energy hungry materials, they are very efficacious-convert energy to light, not heat as non LED’s lights do. These make them intrinsically safe and are generally cool to the touch. LED’s lights can provide with 50,000 hours or more of life, which can tremendously reduce maintenance costs and time. This means, assuming an average twelve hour night, you will not need to change your LED lights after a good eleven year. In comparison, an incandescent light bulb lasts approximately 1,000 hours. Fluorescents are rated for 10,000 hours under ideal conditions. Along with this LED lights are incredibly bright, 3 times brighter than traditional lights, this makes them ideal for a wide range of situations, offering much greater impact and appeal than subdued traditional bulbs. The known problem of replacing blown and the inconvenience and undesired appearance of multiple failed bulbs isn’t an issue with LED’s. With such a long bulb life you can be sure of a fully functioning set of lights, which can be happily left outside requiring no maintenance and minimal routine care. Further mentioning the longevity of LED lights, LED’s are manufactured as one solid piece, with no glass or filaments to break. As such these lights are resistant to shock and vibration, which makes them more durable than non LED lights. Plus they have better quality light output since they have minimum ultraviolet and infrared radiation. LED lights have much greater design freedom in terms of color flexibility including many “whites” – without the use of filters, fully dimmable, new form factors for fixture designs which give us innumerable options to look for. Lastly the most important benefits if you are environment conscious is LED’s unlike Fluorescent and mercury vapor lighting which contains mercury, a hazardous waste to the environment and must be disposed of properly, LED’s don’t contain mercury and are not considered hazardous waste designating them environmental friendly.
Shopping guide for LED lightings
LED lights have started flooding the market but before purchase see to it what are you looking for. LED lights were initially started to be used in commercial environments like entertainment shows, theaters etc. Also, LED lights are already the best light source for traffic signals, vehicular tail lights, emergency lighting and flashlights. Increasingly nowadays, Home LED lightings such as accent wall LED lights, task, landscape and even outdoor LED lighting such as garden Pole LED lightings have arrived in the market. After deciding upon the type of LED lighting, check the prices around various online shop. Price is a hard thing to remain constant since most companies post retail type prices online and are willing to accept your bargain call for bulk purchases. Your best bet is to have a specific LED lighting type in mind and browse through several LED light shop. Check the kind of warranties the selected shop is giving you in terms of lamp life span and durability of LED lights. The light output declines over time so at some point, though the lamp is technically lit, it is not providing the same effect as intended in the beginning. Market pitching shop owner will seem to claim very high lamp life, while more honest LED shop will opt for the lower numbers. A reasonable lamp life for most LED’s seen in the market is around 50,000 hours but if it is more see what kind of warranties and return policy is in place if the claim is not fulfilled by the seller.
As we can see LED lightings have so many benefits compared to other form of lightings that sooner or later its usage will be common. More widespread use could lead to big energy savings and a revolution in the way we think about lighting. And We at For your Home would be part of these revolution, would you like to join?
